Weeks ago, two different reports reported by the news digest surfaced online on attacks attacked on the solar streetlights poles recently installed in campus environs. One – on four of the six solar streetlights poles installed along the Tony elumelu bridge – a pedestrian walkway leading to the students halls of residence, and other five of the nine solar poles installed along Jatau bridge walkway. With this, one can easily conclude that the state of insecurity in usmanu Dan fodiyo university is deteriorating day in and out.

Since my admission into UDUS years ago, I had realized the hardship of most students on how they have had to face the devastating consequences of security challenges – ranging from attacks on female students at nights, theft and vandalizing of students properties in their various halls of residence.

Suprisingly, that the press men challenge the functionality of the school security unit with their pen, the school management quickly arranged for the installation of solar street light poles towards the end of the last semester, merging it together with the effortless effort of the mobile security men.
But fortunately for the pilferers, lapses of the management had paved their path to take their action to the next level.
What lapses? Not only by installation of streetlights, It is clear enough that the actions and inactions of the pilferers tells the management how an environment would be, without efficient mobile security that stands gallantly to monitor the nilty gritty of the environmental affairs. This, whispered that the problem itself needs to be cured.

My experience in south western university environs could bear me witness. There, most of these university managements will never isolate their internal security unit from the services of external forces. You had seen men in uniform parading different faculties and hostel environs even at nights.

Though, no matter how committed security is in any universal environment, freedom to abuse others freedom can only be confined to a certain point. But believing in committed external force coupled with the internal security unit, may soon be enough to salvage danfodites out of the hands of these pilferers.

Forget about _vigilante_ corps, who could rather prefer chasing students out of their _morroco_ points at nights, much ado about the security system on campus.
