Poetry corner:

The cynic

Don’t look into her eyes
Because that’s where the demons hide,
When you do, they call out to you
Entice you, twirl you around they’re finger, make you fall in love.
And when you are fully captured you will want to leave, to flee
To run away and be free.

Her soul is older than her body
Her mind is older than her body
Her heart is older than her body
She plays like the children who did when she didn’t
And talks like the adults are meant to
She gives the smiles that were taken away from her youth
And thinks thoughts her forefathers never could
Because her childhood was stolen before she had it
And her adulthood soiled before she stepped into it
She became The cynic
