INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ABUJA
General Abacha:Welcome to Nigeria your Excellency, how was your flight?

Yasser Arafat:(Walking down the plane stairs) Very well General, I must say that Africa and Nigeria looks reaaly beautiful, much more than we see over the media.

General Abacha:(Laughing softly) Thanks for the complement your Excellency.

Yasser Arafat:It’s an honour General.

General Abacha:(Shaking hands with an accompanying officer) Welcome to Nigeria.

Officer:Thank you very much your Excellency sir.

General Abacha:Come with me your Excellency, I have vehicles waiting to convey you.
(President Yasser Arafat and other visiting personnel follow General Saani Abacha as his chief security officer Al mustapha and his Aide de camp Lt colonel Abdallah follow yonder)

Al mustapha:Colonel, I am noticing something in the head of state.

Lt colonel Abdallah:(Looking at Al mustapha) What is that?

Al mustapha:(Staring ahead) He looks unwell, he seems rather weak.I have seen him few times in this state when his health doesn’t seem so good.

Lt colonel Abdallah:Really? I didnt seem to notice any change ever since his arrival at the airport.

Al mustapha:Maybe because you do not seem to keep clear watch over him.

Lt colonel Abdallah:(Slightly exasperated) And what is tgat supposed to mean?

Al mustapha:Nothing colonel. Alright I’m sorry.

Lt colonel Abdallah:Alright. whatever happens, we would need to keep a close watch over him lest there is a need for medical attention.

Al mustapha:No problem colonel

Lt colonel Abdallah:Let’s increase our pace lest they get out of sight
(Both men walk fast and they catch up with the host and invitees as they all leave the airport premises)

6 HOURS LATER
(In the guest house at the presidential villa)
General Abacha:(To a departing visitor)[In hausa] Ban kwana!

Lt colonel Abdallah:(Salutes) Your Excellency sir, the minister of the federal capital territory is here to see you.

General Abacha:(Elated) USENI?

Lt colonel Abdallah:Yes sir.

General Abacha:(Gesticulating) Tell him to come in.
(The A.D.C moves to the door to usher in the minister of the FCT)

General Abacha:(loudly) GENERAL USENI

General Useni:(Smiling) Your Excellency General Abacha sir.

General Abacha:(In Arabic) Salamaleikum

General Useni:(In return) Waleikumsallam

General Abacha:Come and have a seat Ah! Ah!.how are you doing?

General Useni:(Sitting on a couch) Very well your Excellency. As you could guess.Stories here and stories there.

General Abacha:(Giggles) That’s typical of every administrative position; ofcourse you would be dealing with both friends and foes.You ought to be used to that already.

General Useni:Definitely your Excellency. DEFINITELY. I heard the Palestinian president has arrived the country.

General Abacha:Yes! Yes! Yes! His aircraft landed the airport here in Abuja couple of hours ago.

General Useni:Wow, That’s good.
(Both men engage in hearty discussion for long hours)

3:00am
Al mustapha:(To Lt colonel Abdallah) Colonel, I think I would need to go home so as to prepare for the event at ICC

Lt colonel Abdallah:Is the minister still chatting with the head of state?

Al mustapha:No, I saw him take his leave just now.I think the head of state has returned to his quarters.

Lt colonel Abdallah:Alright then, you can go but ensure you arrive on time so as to make it early for the event.

Al mustapha:No problem colonel. I will.

(In the presidential villa moments later)
Al mustapha:(Barging in) GENERAL SAANI ABACHA SIR, GENERAL SAANI ABACHA SIR.GRANT ME THE PERMISSION TO TOUCH AND CARRY YOU.

General Abacha:(Gasping) Ah………Ah……….Ah……….

Al mustapha:(Knocking at a stool) GENERAL SAANI ABACHA SIR, PLEASE GRANT ME PERMISSION TO CARRY YOU.
(A physician hurriedly enters accompanied by lieutenant colonel Abdallah and a few soldiers)

Dr Wali:(To Al mustapha) kindly stand aside please.

Al mustapha:(Moving aside) Alright sir.

Dr Wali:(After administering injection and examining the head of state) I am sorry.

Lt colonel Abdallah:(Scared) Sorry for what?

Dr Wali:(Bowing his head) We lost him.

Al mustapha:(In arabic) Inna lilahi waina illehi rajiun

Lt colonel Abdallah:(To the other soldiers) The head of state is dead.
(Pandemonium, wailing and soliloquy rents the air as the curtain falls)
