Synopsis

The thing that he was about to do was to open a diary. This was not illegal (nothing was illegal, since there were no longer any laws), but if detected it was reasonably certain that it would be punished by death, or at least by twenty-five years in a forced-labour camp. Winston fitted a nib into the penholder and sucked it to get the grease off. The pen was an archaic instrument, seldom used even for signatures, and he had procured one, furtively and with some difficulty, simply because of a feeling that the beautiful creamy paper deserved to be written on with a real nib instead of being scratched with an ink-pencil. Actually he was not used to writing by hand. Apart from very short notes, it was usual to dictate everything into the speak-write which was of course impossible for his present purpose. He dipped the pen into the ink and then faltered for just a second. A tremor had gone through his bowels. To mark the paper was the decisive act. In small clumsy letters he wrote:

April 4th, 1984.
He sat back. A sense of complete helplessness had descended upon him. To begin with, he did not know with any certainty that this was 1984. It must be round about that date, since he was fairly sure that his age was thirty-nine, and he believed that he had been born in 1944 or 1945; but it was never possible nowadays to pin down any date within a year or two.
For whom, it suddenly occurred to him to wonder, was he writing this diary? For the future, for the unborn. His mind hovered for a moment round the doubtful date on the page, and then fetched up with a bump against the Newspeak word DOUBLETHINK. For the first time the magnitude of what he had undertaken came home to him. How could you communicate with the future? It was of its nature impossible. Either the future would resemble the present, in which case it would not listen to him: or it would be different from it, and his predicament would be meaningless.
For some time he sat gazing stupidly at the paper. The telescreen had changed over to strident military music. It was curious that he seemed not merely to have lost the power of expressing himself, but even to have forgotten what it was that he had originally intended to say. For weeks past he had been making ready for this moment, and it had never crossed his mind that anything would be needed except courage …

One cannot underestimate the power of true love, a power that can constantly envelop a man in an unending utopia.

Winsala Gbotemi draws out a lot of heartfelt metaphysical insights via this song. He chooses to believe that a man was not made or created for a woman, but a woman for a man. So also, a man is born out of a woman.

The bi-causal relationship between the aforementioned infers that the existence of a soulmate is vivid and available to those who believe.

He titles this new single “EZINNE,” meaning good mother in the Igbo language. Ezinne happens to be the name of the love of his life and he dedicates the song to her.

The song is an assurance that he would be true to her, till the end of time.

The song ends with the following metaphysical lyrics:

“Want to spend my life, treating you like a queen,
I want to spend my life, attending to your needs,
I want to spend my life, making you laugh and smile,
I love you.”

FAR AWAY.

To love is to share life together, to build special plans just for two, to work side by side, and then smile with pride, as one by one, dreams all come true.

In this song, Winsala Gbotemi portrays a love story whereby a man’s love is short lived, as the person he thought he would spend the rest of his life with all of a sudden leaves him and goes far away.

Without no explanation whatsover, the man in Winsala Gbotemi’s love story is baffled and can’t fathom why the love of his life would rain check on their love.

Listen to this song. As it is metaphysical.

This poetry chapbook is a pulse from me after reading one of the poems of my teacher, Ustaz Dhirkrullahi Abdullah “Learn the Quran” so I begin to weave it, using the same weight and purpose, in order to disseminate the theme (the value & importance of the Holy Book ‘AL QURAN)

God is responsible for making the Qur’an the spring of our hearts, the clearing of our hearts and the removal of our worries.

FOUR + FOUR.

What if the process of wooing a lady entailed canvassing, and seeking for votes, would it have been fun right?

Asides the fact that music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything, music is a blank page.

A blank page gives us the right to dream. And on this blank page, Winsala Gbotemi has written in invisible ink, clamoring to be visible, depths of his heart.

“FOUR + FOUR” is the first single in Winsala Gbotemi’s new album “A love story.” His new album seeks to bring into manifest depths of the metaphysical, and this new single is a sample.

Synopsis:

In fact, God has already disarmed and disallowed every form of evil. Why evil still occurs is due to man’s individual and corporate neglect of Jesus’ so great a salvation. Jesus Christ is God’s perfect cure for evil, a cure which overcomes evil one way and one way only – – with good. Jesus, as God in the flesh, came to reveal the true nature of God as being good, love, light, truth and Spirit. No Old Testament saint saw the perfect goodness of God. Only Jesus accurately reflected, and still reflects, the true nature of God.

Inner Being.

An old monk once said: ‘there’s a difference between a Human Being and Being Human.” Every man is blessed with another version of himself but hidden. “The Human Being” is the external image he shares with everyone whilst the aspect of “Being Human” is only known to himself.

The term “Inner Being” basically refers to the life-stream focused on this body. You can say that your inner being is a connection with the “non-physical” universe of your consciousness, the wholeness of it.

Your “Inner Being” is your expanded, loving, and compassionate self. It is the wise master within you. Your “Inner Being” is the essence of who-you-really are, your attitude towards people. Your appearance to other beings knows no bound and assists you in knowing your true identity. Whenever you connect with your “Inner Being” you’ll live a more peaceful and fulfilling life.

In this compilation of poems, you’ll notice one theme is peculiar in each poet’s voice and that’s INNER BEING.

MOSES BROKEN DREAMS.

Moses Broken Dreams as the name implies is a conjoined thought on the contemporary and reoccurring issues in the Nigerian political system. The anthology consists of eight thought-provoking poems ranging from THE BIG AND LITTLE WORDS to SEVEN STABS.

The FOREST of THREE and SIX TREES got its provocation from the high level of CORRUPTION displayed by political leaders and men of the forces. How thumbs got printed during the election with sweetened promises of the aspiring leaders and how eventually the promises never see the light of the day. The poem sailed to its destination with a rhetorical question of “Who will save the nation, Nigerians, Leaders or Citizens?”

The SEVEN STABS as titled was about how the country had failed her citizens and which are affecting the Nigerians of today; Fear, Fear of death, Suicide, Time fiction, Deceit, Lies and Greed, and the other Poet emphasized of Insecurity, Violence on Female Child, Bribery and Corruption, Self-centredness.

Untold hardships are the course of the day, income no longer comes with ease. Exorbitant numbers of unemployed graduates no longer have a reliance on their certificates, as it is more or less required to earn one income. Legally or illegally, a normal human being must survive.

Of late, the menace of ladies being too demanding, over bearing and biting more than they can chew has become an eyesore, and a social problem.

Winsala Gbotemi has no problem with a lady falling in love, and being with a well to do man, but the notion and idea that every lady, must date or marry a rich man is devastating and highly lugubirious.

Love is not money, though money can be love. Winsala Gbotemi, His-Grace and Jackson Lee, come together in this beautiful track to express that, peradventure a woman gives either of them her love, they would show her more, but if she wants to break there hearts (leaving them for a richer man), it is better, she takes her love away.

Ogbeni is the sixth track in Winsala Gbotemi’s album, “The Real Me.” And this particular track is embedded with realistic and moral lyrics, making the song a must listen for all and sundry.

The song was composed by Winsala Gbotemi, His-Grace, and Jackson Lee, and arranged by Winsala Gbotemi.
